  Based on the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census I believe that James McNair married a girl called Wilton They had at least 3 children His wife died Her sister, Hannah, came to live with James before 1841 James & Hannah then had 2 children Thomas and Elijah James & Hannah probably never married - in the 1861 census Hannah is listed as unmarried and her two sons are living with her using the name Mc Nair Wilton Born in Helmerby, near Ripon 1841 census shows only 1 family of Wiltons in that village Possible brother George. 1841 Census HO 107/1249 B12 F006 P07 Also in later census he is listed as George Wilton Jnr, implying father also George.
