  Email from Anne Bland, Joseph's daughter, in Sep 2018:- Sarah Agnes Southward was known to us as Auntie Sally. We visited her regularly when I was a child. My father served in the navy during WW2. After the war he bought the farm owned by his uncle Nathan Bland "lock, stock and barrel". This was Struddabank in West Cumbria, above Calderbridge. I was brought up there. It was 37 acres and a fell right on Cold Fell, so quite a tough place to make a living. My father, Joseph Nathan Bland, was born in 1917 and died in 1995. He was the son of Thomas Bland, Nathan Bland's brother.
