44 1851 census lists him being born in Brazil.
The big question is who was his father?
In the 1851 census he is listed as Swaebe, his step-father's name.
His mother married David Swaebe in 1844 after her husband Isaac Ben Moya died in Dec 1843.

Ben Moya-Swaebe, Daniel (I4392)

45 1861 & 1871 Census
Can't find him but the 1881 census shows him as being as mariner, so probably not in port when census taken.
In 1891 he is working on the steamers on Lake Windermere, still married but still no wife.
Can't find him in 1901 so may be back at sea?

Philip Tyson is an extremely rare name and I have found one marrying an Ellen Tunstall in Q2 1875:- 1875 AMJ West Derby 8B 523

Searched for death (all years) and found him in 1908 West Derby, Liverpool. Age at death fits as well.
Tyson, Philip (I713)

1901 census gives her as Sarah Hannah Abraham - living near to her aunt Nancy
1911 Census she is back as Selina
Abraham, Sarah Hannah (I384)

49 1861 census his wife, Nancy, says she is a widow, but the London Gazette confirms that Ezra is in prision for debt. So is this just face saving?

'Houser' is apparently a nickname. It was used by his son John when placing a death notice in the Jewish Chronicle.
Jacobs, Ezra (Houser) (I4024)
