  WW1 service record. James appears to have enlisted in 1917 but not actually called up until 1918. He served with the 3rd Battallion of the King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment) but doesn't appear to have seen active service. He was demobbed in Dublin in 1919. At the time of his enlisting he was living at Soutergate, Kirkby Ireleth and he gives his father, George, as next of kin. Occupation is given as Labourer in a Loco Coal Stage.
